Carl Frederik SORENSEN
• Occupation: Apprenticed to a grocer, Sorensen was a self-made man. He became the last of the city's big grocers, leaving at his death a large and prosperous firm. He held an executive position with the Farmer Bank and was in the city's top ten taxpayers. • Occupation: He features in Morten Korch's "Inside the ramparts": 'small and slender of build and a very clever grocer. Despite his frailty, he was regarded as one of the 'snildeste' heads among all merchants on Funen.'. Carl married Christiane Margrethe LUND before 1870 in Denmark. (Christiane Margrethe LUND was born about 1849 in Denmark and died before 1897 in Nyborg Denmark.) |
