 Noted events in his life were:
• Occupation: married his cousin. Edward emigrated to South Africa in 1882 but after a skirmish with Zulus he soon moved on to South Australia (all children born NSW). His marriage caused the two sides of the family to shun one another for over 40 years - when they visited England in 1908 the visit to each side was not noted by the other. Margaret died of pneumonia after delivering a stillborn baby and Edward struggled, eventually selling up and returning to England in 1912. Some time about 1925 he returned to Australia, but we don't know when. He left the boys behind in England (but they had already gone out to NSW as young men!)
Richard married Margaret Eliza WELCH, daughter of Jacob WELCH and Unknown, in 1895 in Nursling HAM. (Margaret Eliza WELCH was born in 1867 and died in 1909 in New South Wales AUS.)
